THE CHALLENGE

Turning device data into an experience pet owners understand.

OUR APPROACH

We treated the brand website and mobile app as parts of one product. Location, activity and health data follow a coherent path from the device through the backend and API to the user’s screen.

A PetTech platform connecting a web experience, mobile app and smart collar integration. Location, activity and care workflows share a common backend.

ENGINEERING STORY

From a collar to an end-to-end product.

For MyPet we combined a website, a Flutter mobile app, a backend and smart-collar communication in one product. Here is what we built, from the problem to the architecture, and why we built it this way.

  1. Problem

There was device data, but no experience.

The smart collar produced location, movement, temperature and battery data, yet there was no single product where a pet owner could understand it, share it with a vet and manage a subscription. The brand wanted the website, the app and operations designed together, not separately.

  2. Technical challenge

Turning irregular telemetry into dependable actions.

Device data arrives at irregular intervals, sometimes incomplete or contradictory. It had to be validated, turned into events such as a geofence breach or an activity anomaly, and reflected in the app without delay. Keeping one user identity consistent across web, app and the subscription lifecycle was the second challenge.

  3. COSMOKOD’s responsibility

COSMOKOD owned the product end to end.

    • Brand website and account experience
    • iOS and Android app built with Flutter
    • Backend, REST API and device communication layer
    • Subscription and payment flows
    • Vet–owner messaging and appointment flow
    • Administration panel for operations
  4. Solution

One backend, one data model, three surfaces.

We validate device telemetry at the API layer and interpret it in the backend, turning it into location, health and care events delivered as notifications. Web, mobile and the admin panel share the same user, device and subscription model, so the owner sees the same state on every surface.

  5. Architecture

A defined path from device to screen.

    • Telemetry ingestion → validation → event generation (geofence, anomaly, battery)
    • Shared REST endpoints for web and mobile
    • Push notifications and scheduled reminders
    • Subscription state mapped to device access
    • Conversation, approval and calendar flow for the veterinary side
  6. Outcome

Not an app screen; a working ecosystem.

Pet owners manage location, health, nutrition and veterinary care from one app; the brand follows subscriptions and operations from one panel. Device data now produces actionable notifications instead of raw numbers.

THE EXPERIENCE

From device to app. Connected at every step.

01

Location and safe zones

Live location, route history and safe-zone notifications.

02

Health and activity

Clear summaries of movement, temperature and daily activity.

03

Veterinary care

Connected flows for appointments, messaging, nutrition and care routines.

THE RESULT

More than an app screen: a complete product.

The website, mobile app, backend, IoT data flows, subscriptions and payments share one product architecture. Pet-owner and veterinarian experiences are supported by appointment flows and an administration panel.
